Good day, Harmony Families,
|We hope this finds you and your family doing well. As you all know, we are going through this pandemic and dealing with the inconveniences created the best we can. Since our students did not have a chance to take their belongings from their lockers, we created a schedule for this to occur.
This schedule is for 6th – 12th grade students. If you have any questions concerning the belongings of Kinder – 5th grade students, please contact Ms. Glovier via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Social distancing must be adhered to. Student locker clean out will be according to the following schedule, alphabetized BY FIRST NAME. To ensure social distancing, this schedule will be strictly followed.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND:
*Only one person will be allowed to enter the building for each student, whether it be the student or their parent/guardian
*Siblings in the same household may enter together at the scheduled time of either student. Other than this, no exceptions to the schedule will be made.
*Remain in your vehicle until the scheduled time begins so that we do not have a congregation at the front of the building. 20 minutes will be plenty of time to remove all belongings.
ALL PERSONS ENTERING THE BUILDING MUST:
|*Wear a face mask covering nose and mouth (even if it is a bandana or shirt)|
|*Not touch anything except their own locker and belongings
*Remain six feet away from all others at all times
|*Be in and out of the building during the allotted 20 minute time frame|
|*Not report early and/or wait in front of the building – Please stay in your vehicle (or off the property if you walk) until your allotted time begins|
|*Proceed directly to the locker and then back outside to your vehicle(or leave the property) No restroom, water fountain or visiting with anybody
*Leave the property as soon as your business is finished
|Please be sure to know when you will enter the school according to this schedule, alphabetically by FIRST NAME. No Exceptions will be made.|

Harmony School of Innovation – El Paso teacher, Henry Salgado, is one of only 28 high school science teachers that has been selected by the SETI institute as a 2020 NASA Airborne Astronomy Ambassador (AAA) and will fly on NASA‘s SOFIA. The teachers selected represent 13 states with only four teachers from Texas and Mr. Salgado is the only teacher selected from El Paso, Tx.
AAA is a professional development program for high school science teachers designed to improve science teaching and increase student learning and STEM engagement. Training includes a week-long immersion experience at NASA‘s Armstrong Flight Research Center Hangar with participation in research flights on NASA‘s Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA). The program culminates in classroom delivery of a SOFIA science-oriented curriculum module.
Starting Monday, April 6 we will move into phase II of distance learning; digital learning. Our dedicated teachers are ready to start the digital learning journey with you. Chromebooks have been distributed and Google Classrooms have been created to engage our students in continuing their academic excellence.

Harmony Public Schools will continue to provide breakfast and lunch for pick up by parents at designated locations throughout the district. The Texas Department of Agriculture no longer provides funding for Saturday and Sunday meals, so these meals will not be available, beginning the week of Monday April 6th.
Meals will continue to be served “drive-up” style and will be distributed curbside at designated locations on the following days.

Parents now have the option of picking up meals for their children without them being present in the vehicle. One meal bag will be issued for each child 18 and under. However, eligibility must still be verified. There are three options when picking up meals:
- If children are present in the vehicle, no additional documentation is required.
- If a parent/guardian requests meals for children enrolled in Harmony Public Schools (not present in the vehicle), no additional documentation is needed since we already have record of eligibility by enrollment.
- If a parent/guardian requests meals for children not enrolled in Harmony Public Schools, they must present one of the following documents at the time of pick up.
- Official letter/email/electronic school application from school listing children enrolled.
- Individual student report cards
- Attendance record from parent portal of the school website, printed or electronic, that includes the children names
- Birth certificate for children not in school
- Student ID cards

Harmony Public Schools is encouraging our families to take a few moments to complete the 2020 U.S. Census online, by phone, or mail.
The 2020 Census is a count of everyone who lives in the United States and its territories. The 2020 Census questionnaire asks a few simple questions like the age, sex, and the number of people living in your home. Individual responses are confidential and cannot be used against you by any court or government agency.
When it comes to schools, the 2020 Census will determine funding for special education, teacher training, technology, school lunch assistance, Head Start and after-school programs. The census will also help determine funding for other important programs for families, such as maternal and child health programs, and housing, heating and food assistance.
People should count all children who live in their homes, including newborns and others too young for school. That’s important because responses to the census help schools plan for the resources they will need when the new generation of children is ready for school.

HPS Child Find Policy
It is the policy of the Harmony Public Schools to ensure that
